I hadn’t seen my daughter in 13 years, and just yesterday, I received a letter from a grandson I never knew existed

Thirteen years ago, I lost my daughter, Alexandra, when my wife left me for my boss. Over the years, I tried to rebuild my life, but I never stopped thinking about my daughter.

Yesterday, I received a letter addressed to “Grandpa Steve” from a six-year-old boy named Adam. He claimed to be my grandson, and after reading the letter, I rushed to St. Louis to meet him. At a children’s home, I learned that Alexandra had abandoned Adam after struggling with life, just like her mother had.

Adam, curious about his grandfather, had found an old diary mentioning me and had asked for my help. When I met him, I was overwhelmed by his resemblance to Alexandra. Despite everything, I knew I would give him the love he deserved.

Thirteen years ago, I thought I had lost everything. Now, I had a chance to start over with my grandson, and I wouldn’t let him feel abandoned like I had.
