Woman Thought Pretending to B

Lena is already late and rushing through a boutique hotel when she enters an elevator, only to be caught in an unexpected moment: she’s stuck with a handsome, well-dressed stranger. As the elevator comes to a halt, the man—Dylan—introduces himself and, to Lena’s surprise, asks if she’d be willing to be his fake date at a wedding the next day. Dylan explains that he’s been invited as the best friend of the groom, but his ex will be there, and he’d prefer not to sit alone at the singles table. It’s a strange proposition, but with nothing better to do, Lena agrees.

At the wedding, the chemistry between them is undeniable. As they navigate through the event, pretending to be a couple, Lena finds herself drawn to Dylan. His calm demeanor and the way he interacts with her make her forget they’re just playing a part. But when she sees Dylan reconnect with his ex, Maya, Lena begins to feel a pang of jealousy she hadn’t anticipated. Watching them talk, share an intimate hug, Lena realizes that her feelings for Dylan might be more than just a game.

Conflicted, Lena decides to leave the reception before things get too complicated. She packs her bags the next morning, determined to move on, but fate has other plans. As she rushes through the hotel lobby, she bumps into Dylan, spilling his coffee in the process. Dylan, clearly surprised to see her again, confronts her about leaving without a word. He admits he thought the night was just a one-time thing, but after watching her walk away, he realized he didn’t want it to end.Lena hesitates, questioning whether this is just a fleeting connection or something more. Dylan assures her it’s real, and he doesn’t care about his ex or anyone else—he cares about her. For the first time, Lena allows herself to stop overthinking and, feeling the same pull, steps forward to kiss him.

The kiss is real, warm, and unlike their fake date. As they break apart, Dylan asks if she’ll stay, to which Lena laughs and replies, “Maybe. But only if you promise to stop getting us stuck in elevators.” Dylan chuckles and promises no guarantees. With that, Lena lets herself fall into what feels like a real connection, something more than they had planned.
