Woman Goes to Neighbor’s Garage Sale, Finds Her Missing Daughter’s Jacket — Story of the Day

Kaylee’s daughter, Amanda, vanished two weeks ago. Despite relentless efforts from both Kaylee and the police, Amanda remained unfound. One day, while posting more flyers, Kaylee stopped at her neighbor Angela’s garage sale and was horrified to see Amanda’s jacket—the one she wore the night she disappeared.

With a pounding heart, Kaylee demanded, “Where did you get this?” Angela, startled, explained she bought it at a second-hand store near the bus station. Desperate for answers, Kaylee rushed to the store. The clerk vaguely remembered Amanda, mentioning she needed money for a bus ticket.

Fueled by a newfound lead, Kaylee drove to the neighboring town, where Amanda’s biological mother lived. Her search seemed hopeless until she spotted a girl on a porch in the pouring rain. It was Amanda. Tearful and relieved, they embraced, with Amanda apologizing and Kaylee promising never to let her go again. They headed home, reunited and determined to rebuild their bond.
