The Ultimate Crispy Air Fryer Grilled Cheese — No Skillet Needed!

Ingredients (makes 4 sandwiches): 8 slices white or sandwich bread, 8 slices of your favorite melty cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, etc.) ,4 tbsp softened butter or mayo (try garlic butter for extra flavor!), ½ to 1 cup shredded cheese (for topping) , Optional: mustard, ham, or tomato slices for inside the sandwich

Instructions: Assemble the sandwiches:
Layer 1 or 2 slices of cheese between two bread slices. Add mustard, ham, or tomato if you like. Butter the outside: Spread a thin layer of butter or mayo on the outside of each sandwich. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top to create a crispy, cheesy crust.

Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3 minutes. Place sandwiches in the basket (cook in batches if needed). Air fry for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook another 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy. Serve: Let the sandwiches cool for a minute or two so the cheese inside is perfectly gooey. Enjoy with tomato soup or a fresh side salad!

Pro Tips: Use parchment paper or a silicone liner to catch any melted cheese drips. Avoid too many wet fillings like fresh tomatoes to keep your bread from getting soggy.
