Serena Williams reacts after finding cotton plant in her hotel

Serena Williams has called out a New York City hotel after spotting what appeared to be a cotton plant used as corridor décor during her stay.

The 44-year-old tennis legend, who is in the city to celebrate the launch of Kim Kardashian’s NikeSKIMS collection, questioned the choice in an Instagram Story. “Alright everyone—how do we feel about cotton as decoration? Personally, for me, it doesn’t feel great,” she said.

Williams, who has been promoting the collaboration alongside sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson and gymnast Jordan Chiles, was visibly unsettled even after realizing the plant was fake. She examined it closely, noting it felt like “nail polish remover cotton.”

The incident came amid a busy week for Williams, who toasted Kardashian’s success at a fashion dinner with Khloé Kardashian. The mother-of-two also hinted at recent struggles, revealing in a cryptic post that she endured a “difficult August.”
