The 27-year-old defender suffered cardiac arrest during the game and was rushed to the hospital. Despite initial stability, his condition worsened, and he passed away after being placed on a ventilator.

Nacional expressed their grief, writing, “We express our most sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones.” Juan’s wife, Selena, who recently gave birth to their second child, shared a heartfelt letter: “Today I had to say goodbye to my other half, the love of my life… You left so much life to live, so much path to walk, my Juanma.”
