My Stepdaughter Demanded I Transfer All Her Late Dad’s Assets to Her Name – I Did, but She Didn’t Like It

George’s absence haunted their home, his memory wrapped in the shirt Mariana clutched each night. But it wasn’t his death that shattered her—it was her stepdaughter Susan’s demand for his assets. When Mariana finally gave in, a twist emerged, leaving Susan furious and Mariana oddly at peace.

Mariana, 57, had cherished her late husband George for 25 years. Susan, his daughter from a previous marriage, had once called Mariana “Mom.” But Susan’s visits dwindled during George’s illness, culminating in her cruel inquiry about his remaining days.

After George’s passing, Susan didn’t attend the funeral, citing her pregnancy. Six months later, she and her husband Doug arrived with demands for George’s assets. Mariana, hurt and angry, refused, only to face Susan’s vitriol.

Eventually, Mariana consulted a lawyer to transfer the assets, learning George had already secured everything in her name years ago. Susan received only $3,000 and an old car, sparking her fury. Mariana, finding solace in George’s foresight, sold the assets, bought a villa, and started anew.

Susan’s attempts at litigation failed. Mariana, embracing her new life, traveled, made friends, and indulged in hobbies. Yet, a call from Susan’s representative broke her peace, requesting a meeting. Mariana declined, choosing to live the life George would have wanted for her, free from Susan’s greed.

She knew George’s love and their memories would guide her, giving her the strength to move forward, leaving behind the bitterness that once threatened to consume her.
