My Grandson’s Paper Airplane Revealed My DIL’s Secret That Got Me Banned from Seeing Him

I’m Margaret, 71, and when my husband passed, my world crumbled. The only joy in my life was my grandson, Timmy. But six months ago, my son and daughter-in-law cut me off completely, preventing me from seeing him. I was heartbroken.

One day, I went to their house, and my daughter-in-law slammed the door in my face. As I turned to leave, Timmy threw a paper airplane from the window with a message: “Grandma, HELP! I’m not safe! Please, don’t tell Mom and Dad!” My heart stopped. Was he in danger?

I rushed to my friend Linda’s house, who had heard rumors about my daughter-in-law acting strange. I knew I had to act fast. Later that night, I snuck into my son’s backyard and spoke to Timmy. He told me his parents were fighting, and there was a man who made his mom act weird and scared him.

I contacted an old friend, Jim, a retired cop, who discovered my son’s name was linked to a drug investigation, and his wife was involved with a trafficking ring. I called Child Services, and after an investigation, they found evidence of neglect, drug use, and violence. Timmy was taken out of the home, and I was granted temporary custody.

My son entered rehab, and my daughter-in-law was arrested. Raising Timmy at my age isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. I’ve learned that you should never ignore a child’s cry for help. Timmy was mine, and I was his lifeline.
