I Got Seated Next to My Husband’s Ex on a Flight – by the Time We Landed, My Marriage Was Over

As Grace heads home from a visit to her mother, she unexpectedly finds herself seated next to Clara, her husband’s ex-wife, on a flight. Initially, Grace is disoriented but tries to remain composed. Clara, however, soon reveals unsettling details about her past with Oscar.

Clara casually mentions that the house Grace and Oscar live in was once meant to be her dream home, designed with her input. This revelation hits Grace hard, but it’s just the beginning. Clara further discloses that Oscar continues to send her tulips for anniversaries and birthdays, even after their divorce, and calls her for emotional support during rough patches in his marriage with Grace.

Grace is shocked and overwhelmed, feeling betrayed by the man she thought she knew. By the end of the flight, she’s faced with a painful decision about her future with Oscar. Sitting in an airport café, she drafts a message to her husband: “It’s over, Oscar. Speak to Clara.”
