I cared for my ailing neighbor for years, but when she passed away, I was shocked to find the police knocking at my door

I cared for Mrs. Patterson, a wealthy but lonely elderly woman, for seven years. Her family barely visited, only taking what they could from her. Over time, she became my family, and we shared moments of love and laughter. When she passed, her family quickly arrived, eager to inherit her wealth, but she had a surprise for them.

At the reading of her will, it was revealed that she left everything to me, her caretaker, calling me her friend and family. Her children were furious, accusing me of manipulation, but she had prepared evidence of our bond. The will stated she didn’t trust her family and had arranged for security to protect me.

As they were escorted out, I was left with her home, memories, and the love she had shown me. Mrs. Patterson gave me a family, even in her death, while her greedy family was left with nothing but regret.
