Husband Went to Friend’s Wedding

Iris’s life with her husband, Paul, wasn’t as perfect as it appeared. After their second child, Paul became more absorbed in work, leaving Iris to manage the household and two young kids, Ollie and Sophie, on her own. One day, Paul announced he’d be attending a wedding alone for three days, leaving Iris disappointed when she learned she wasn’t invited. A heated argument followed, where Paul handed Iris a mere $20, mocking her ability to run the house on such a small amount.

Frustrated and desperate, Iris faced the cold reality of their empty fridge. With no other choice, she decided to take drastic action. Spotting Paul’s prized coin collection, she sold it to an antique shop for $700. Using the money, she bought groceries for the family, but guilt lingered as she thought about betraying Paul’s trust.

When Paul returned, he was unusually cheerful, bringing home groceries. But his smile faltered when he noticed his coin collection missing. Iris, guilt-ridden, confessed, and Paul, overwhelmed with hurt, broke down in tears. Realizing how far things had spiraled, Iris rushed to buy the coins back, using a family heirloom to make up the difference.

When she finally returned the coins, Paul was deeply moved, and they had an honest conversation about their strained relationship. It was a painful, emotional exchange, but they both understood the importance of communication and trust. They decided to work on their marriage, learning that love wasn’t about revenge, but about navigating life together, hand in hand.
