Everyone in My Daughter’s Class Thought I Was Dead — When I Found Out Why, I Plotted My Revenge

Everyone in my daughter’s class thought I was dead, and when I found out why, I knew I had to take action. It all started on parents’ day when I decided to surprise my daughter at school, only to be met with shock and confusion.

Ever since our daughter started primary school, her dad, Tom, attended all the parent meetings. Megan had often asked me to come, and this time, I decided to surprise her. When I walked into her classroom, everyone turned pale. Mrs. Harris, the teacher, pulled me aside and said, “You can’t be Megan’s mother. Her mom passed away a few years ago.”

Tom arrived soon after and was shocked to see me. Mrs. Harris said, “Everyone here thinks your wife passed away.” Tom explained, “It started a few years ago. Somehow, it turned into you being gone.” I was incredulous. “Gone? As in dead?” Tom admitted, “I didn’t correct them. It seemed easier.”

I confronted Tom, furious. “You let everyone believe I was dead for years?” Tom looked ashamed. “I didn’t know how to fix it once it started.” We had a lot of work to do to fix the damage and explain everything to Megan.

Returning to the classroom, Megan saw me and ran over, hugging me tightly. “Mom! You came!” I smiled, hugging her back. “Of course, sweetie.”
