I Came Home to My Husban

Margaret thought she had the perfect husband in Martin—kind, attentive, and loving. But everything changed the day she came home early to find him digging up their garden with his ex-wife, Janet. Confronting them, Margaret learned they’d buried a time capsule during their marriage and planned to secretly unearth it together.

Martin stammered, clearly nervous—a quirk Margaret knew signaled stress or guilt. Hurt by his secrecy and the destruction of her garden, Margaret watched as they laughed over the capsule’s contents inside.

Fueled by heartbreak, she lit a bonfire and burned the past—photos, letters, and all. “Burnt bridges should stay burnt,” she said, demanding they focus on the future instead.

Janet left. Martin apologized, admitting he’d feared Margaret’s reaction. She wasn’t ready to forgive—but she wasn’t ready to walk away either. As the fire burned low, Margaret realized Martin wasn’t perfect… just human. Whether their relationship could be rebuilt remained to be seen.
