Take a deep breath before you see Linda Gray today, at 84

Linda Gray became a TV icon as Sue Ellen Ewing on the hit series Dallas, appearing in over 300 episodes. But behind the scenes, her journey has been anything but easy. Born in 1940 in Santa Monica, Linda faced polio as a child and grew up with a distant father and an alcoholic mother. From a young age, she took on adult responsibilities, developing the strength that would define her later life. In her early 20s, she married photographer Ed Thrasher and became a mother of two, putting her dreams aside for years.

But at 37, Linda decided to pursue acting seriously—despite her husband’s disapproval. That leap of faith led her to Dallas, where her chemistry with co-star Larry Hagman turned her into a household name. Though she found success on screen, her personal life remained complex. She eventually ended her 21-year marriage, raised two children, and faced deep heartbreak when her son Jeff, a talented director, passed away from leukemia in 2020. Despite all the challenges, Linda Gray remains resilient. At 84, she’s still active, still beautiful, and still inspiring. Her story is a reminder that it’s never too late to chase your dreams—and that strength comes from the struggles we survive.
