Alice’s son, Jeremy, had always been happy, but recently, he became distant whenever her new husband, Sam, entered the room. Alice initially dismissed it, but when Jeremy revealed Sam had called him a “problem,” Alice’s concerns deepened.
Alice had been through a painful divorce when her first husband, Daniel, left her for another woman. She rebuilt her life, eventually meeting Sam, who seemed perfect. He was kind to Jeremy, and they quickly bonded. But after a conversation Jeremy overheard, Alice began to suspect something was wrong.
Jeremy revealed that Sam had called him a “problem,” and Alice confronted Sam, who denied it. However, her mother’s investigation revealed Sam didn’t even work where he claimed. A private investigator uncovered that Sam had been scamming Alice, planning to frame her at work to gain access to her assets.
With proof in hand, Alice went to the police, and Sam was arrested. She later took Jeremy out for ice cream, grateful to her son for saving her from losing everything.
