My Husband Told Me to Stay Home While He Attended a Gala Alone, He Didnt Expect to See Me There with the CEO at the Stage

My husband Ryan told me to stay home while he attended a prestigious gala alone. That night, as he took the stage for a career-defining presentation, I stood beside his CEO. Instead of his work, the screen showed his betrayal.

We met in university—he struggled academically, and I helped him graduate. We married, had kids, and I stepped away from my career to raise them, still assisting Ryan with his marketing work. But he always had excuses to avoid introducing me to his colleagues.

Then one day, at the park, I met Evelyn, the CEO of Ryan’s company, who mistakenly thought I was his sister. She revealed that Ryan had told them he was single. I realized he’d erased me from his life.

After confiding in Evelyn, I gathered proof of my work that Ryan had taken credit for. She offered me a chance to present at the gala. On the night of the event, as Ryan spoke, the screen behind him revealed family photos and my work. Evelyn introduced me as Ryan’s wife—and new hire.

I confronted Ryan on stage, and instead of an apology, he walked away. By morning, he was gone, and I had his job. Evelyn handed me a contract. “Welcome to the team,” she said. I signed it, finally taking the recognition I deserved.
