Two Olympians Propose to Their Girlfriends During Paris Games: Photos That Bring Tears to Eyes

During the Paris Olympics, two athletes celebrated their victories with surprise proposals. On August 2, Chinese badminton player Liu Yuchen proposed to his girlfriend, Huang Ya Qiong, after winning gold in mixed doubles. Liu, who had just won the medal, surprised Huang with an engagement ring, leaving her overwhelmed. Huang exclaimed, “I cannot describe the feeling I have… Getting the gold medal is recognition of our journey. I was surprised by the engagement ring.”

On August 4, American shot putter Payton Otterdahl proposed to Maddy Nilles in front of the Eiffel Tower. Otterdahl shared their engagement on Instagram, writing, “Meanwhile, in the City of Love… I love you forever, Maddy Nilles!”

Both couples’ heartfelt moments were captured and celebrated, marking their achievements and new beginnings in the City of Love.
