Grandmother Sets Marriage Deadline for Granddaughter by Her 70th Birthday or She’s Excluded from Will — Story of the Day

Sophie was enjoying a pleasant evening with her family when her grandmother, Evelyn, dropped a surprising announcement. To receive her inheritance, Sophie needed to marry within a month, by Evelyn’s upcoming birthday.

“You have dedicated your life to your career, which is commendable. But you’ve neglected our cherished family values,” Evelyn declared, giving Sophie a challenging ultimatum.

Sophie reluctantly dove into the dating scene, but it was a disaster. Eventually, she asked her assistant, Steven, to pretend to be her boyfriend. They spent a weekend together, which brought them closer, but Sophie’s initial coldness after the trip hurt Steven deeply.

After Steven resigned, Sophie realized her true feelings. At Evelyn’s birthday party, she apologized to Steven, admitting, “Our pretending… it turned into something real for me.”

Evelyn revealed that the inheritance condition was a test, wanting Sophie to value personal connections over her career. In the end, Steven announced his new bakery, and the evening ended with warmth and understanding, as Sophie embraced a future filled with love.
