After Gina and her husband Brendan decide to divorce, he turns bitter and unpredictable. To clear her head, Gina stays with her parents for the weekend. However, upon returning home, she finds all her furniture thrown across the lawn with a “Free Stuff!” sign. Brendan’s petty act enrages her, but as Gina gathers her scattered belongings, she stumbles upon his father’s precious heirloom watch.

Seizing the opportunity, Gina keeps the watch, knowing Brendan values it dearly. When he realizes it’s missing, he pleads for its return. Gina makes him believe it’s with a neighbor and manages to squeeze $500 from him. Though Brendan collects his watch, the bitterness lingers. Gina walks away feeling empowered, having turned his spiteful actions against him.

As Gina reflects on the ordeal, she recognizes that a fresh start is exactly what she needs, and maybe Brendan’s true colors were the final push she required.
