My Teenage Son Spent Grandma’s Funeral Savings on a Game — The Family Taught Him a Lesson

When Judy discovers her teenage son, Brandon, has been stealing his grandmother’s savings to fund his gaming addiction, she knows she must teach him an unforgettable lesson.

I’ve always heard about one child in every family who does stupid things. I didn’t expect my son to be that child. Brandon, like most teenage boys, was obsessed with gaming and always begged me for money to buy the latest games.

“It’s ridiculous, Brandon,” I would say. “I’m not giving you money for stupid games.”

But his persistence was relentless. Then, a week ago, he stopped whining, and I thought he had moved past it. But then, my mom called in a panic, saying her funeral savings were gone. I knew Brandon was the culprit.

Later, I confronted Brandon, and his guilt was evident. To teach him a lesson, we planned a family meeting, making him believe we might have to put Grandma in a nursing home due to her “memory loss.” Finally, he confessed, and we grounded him until he repaid every cent.
