I Overheard My Parents Whispering about Breaking Me Up with My Girlfriend — We Decided to Outplay Them

Daniel discovered his parents’ plan to pay off his girlfriend, Lily, to end their relationship. “Didn’t we raise him right?” his mother whispered, and his father added, “Do you think $5,000 will be enough to offer her to disappear?”

Shocked, Daniel told Lily everything. Together, they devised a plan to confront his parents. The next day, Daniel called his parents for a serious chat. When his father slid an envelope with cash towards Lily, she pretended to accept it.

As his parents gloated, Daniel revealed, “I know about the money and what you said earlier in the kitchen.” Their faces turned pale, realizing their plan had backfired.

Holding the envelope, Daniel said, “Thanks for the money. We’ll find a good use for it.” They used it for their wedding fund and charity. This experience strengthened Daniel and Lily’s bond, teaching his parents a lesson about respect and underestimation.
